Once you’ve decided you would like to hire me as your designer, I have a process that I like to work through so you know what you’re going to get. You’ll find that I’m pretty black and white with minor shades of gray, so what you see is what you get…there are no surprises here and no time is wasted.
We can connect via email, face-to-face or on the phone. I have several questions I need to ask you to learn more about you and your business needs. After we’ve chatted and I have a better understanding of what your business needs and goals are, I will send you a quote and proposal of your project via email or snail mail. Things to consider.
After you have signed the contract I will request materials from you, such as logo, photos, forms, content, etc. to begin working on your project solution. If you would rather I acquire photos, I will purchase stock photos from a web source. For an additional fee, I can perform a photo shoot for you. For an additional fee, I can also provide you with quality content.
Based on the information you provide during our initial meeting I will research design, advertising and market trends in your industry. Utilizing this research I will incorporate ways for you to stand out from the pack. This will include thumbnail drawings, related words and concept drawings.
I will design your web layout in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, but will use current XHTML and CSS standards with validation to produce your online presence. I use an array of Adobe software products for use in print, web and multimedia projects.
You will receive an initial design layout for approval. A web layout will be a screen shot of the final project and a print layout will be a pdf. Because I go through such an arduous and deliberate process changes may not be to the advantage of the client. Although I have an open-door policy and you have the right to question my ideas, it is important to remember that you are paying for my design skills. Per contract, you have the right to one design change upon initial review.
Once you have signed off for final approval I will complete the development of your project solutions. Websites can be created by incorporating a content management system (CMS) or with current CSS and XHTML standards and strictly coded.
When your creative solution is ready to launch I will provide you with the art work for print pieces. For websites, I will launch your site or you may choose to host your own. Websites will also have Google Analytics included. This allows you to have a detailed analysis of your site’s traffic.
